Houston, Texas

In summer 2018, I got the chance to visit Houston, Texas with my church’s youth group. When I first received the news that we would be flying in an airplane, I was a little hesitant. I had never flown before and was extremely terrified of heights. But before I knew it, I was packing my bags and preparing myself to board a flight. Once I got into the air, I knew that God was in control and His plan would come to fruition. I personally have never felt so close to God and it made me feel wonderful. I knew this trip was going to be life changing.

Flying to Houston

While in Houston, I experienced so many great things. We would work during the day and worship at night. I never felt lonely, especially since there were 10,000 other people there worshiping with me. I got to experience some of my favorite Christian artists such as Rachel Kurtz and Agape. We also had certain days where we would help the local community, which was amazing. It felt so nice to be able to help others. On our free day, we were able to watch the Houston Astros play against the Toronto Blue Jays! It was a really great game.

Honestly, this is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t trade the memories I made for anything else in the world. Not only did I develop a closer relationship with God, but I also became closer with my amazing church family. I’m so grateful that I was able to go.
